We pray for all the rejected, the destitute, the abandoned… We pray for all the youth here in Japan growing up without a father. You, oh Lord, are a father to the fatherless. You see the suffering of the helpless and you take pity. Gather them in your arms, God. Give them the comfort they need to heal and grow.
Whether through divorce, death or sheer neglect, we pray for this fatherless generation. Have mercy on them. They don’t know any better. They were never taught. May their eyes finally be opened to the error of their ways and may they turn from the sins of their own fathers and help to build a new generation that serves You–and only You–all the days of their life.
May God rescue the suffering and the weak.
In Jesus’ Name,
A father of the fatherless… is God in his holy habitation.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
(2 Chronicles 7:14)
